ABOUT

I have lived an extremely eclectic life, which informs the wide range of stories and mediums with which I work. I walked the protest lines as a child with my civil rights activist mother. I was the only white child riding the bus to school from an all black neighborhood in the deep South. I was raised in the Black and Jewish communities of a small southern town. I hitchhiked/backpacked through Europe and Africa for a year with my mother when I was ten.

i have honored my mother’s passion for social justice as an adult: working with the Big Brothers, Actor’s fund Buddy program during the AIDS crisis, neighborhood anti-discrimination org, amnesty international, voter registration and a fair housing non-profit.

I lived brief other lives as a policy wonk on Capitol Hill, a semi-pro soccer player and a corporate minion. I have also performed everything from stand-up comedy in New York clubs to modern dance at the Joyce, classical theatre/Opera at Carnegie Hall and national tours of Shakespeare. I directed OSCAR-Winner Olympia Dukakis in a film and cooked in a Japanese restaurant. I am blessed with an amazing family. I am married to the talented actress, Shirleyann Kaladjian, and we have one child, our wonderful son, Ando.
